Identify a status bit
Shore power, chargers and pump enables are normal states, so they never raise an
alarm and nothing can infer them. The only way to know which bit is which is to operate
the switch and watch.
Switch the thing off, wait about twenty seconds, switch it back on. Polling is every
five seconds, so twenty is plenty. The bit that moved appears at the top of

Either any of them — which fires only when nothing at all is carrying traffic — or name the ones you rely on, so losing Starlink alerts you even while a cellular backup holds.
The boat going quiet
This fires when nothing has arrived from the collector for ten minutes. There is nothing to choose — carry on to the timing.
How patient should it be?
These two settings are what separate a useful alert from one you learn to ignore.
Rides out the flicker. Bilge level moves as the boat rolls and a genset takes a moment to come up to frequency — neither is worth a text.
A shore line that stays disconnected all night would otherwise text you all night. If the fault clears and comes back, that is news again and this does not hold it back.
